To improve the prosecution of batterers and improve conviction rates,
the Legal System Task Force organized family violence training for over
200 law enforcement officers and prosecutors. Attendees learned from national
experts about best practices for the handling of family violence cases.
Topics included evidence collection, court testimony, and prosecution
without a witness. This session marks the first shared training of these
two groups on this topic in 20 years.
